Welcome to this year’s Boyne City Independence Day Run!

The brief guide below should help answer any questions about “where, when and what” for Tuesday’s event.

Please note start times and packet pickup location. For those who registered “with shirt”, shirts in the sizes ordered are guaranteed. We made lots of extras for purchase at packet pickup by those who registered after the deadline. We suggest arriving early (preferably Wednesday) for the best chance to receive a shirt in your size!

Whether you’re a speedster or not, be sure to check results online (link above) after your race to see if you are an age group winner. Organizers have overall and age group awards this year! Both go 3 deep - Top 3 male and female participants in each category. You’ll have to be present after the event to receive your award. They will not be shipped!

Race registration will remain open online up until race start. Please do not wait until race time to pick up packets! We suggest arriving no later than 6:45AM on Thursday.

Race bibs (numbers) will be assigned at packet pickup. Please wear your race bib on the front of your body (and uncovered) so that the timing mats get a good read and so we can identify you in pictures. Also - SMILE when crossing the finish line as our photographer will be taking photos as you cross that you’ll be able to download for free!

Be sure to stick around town Tuesday night for the Boyne City Fireworks!

A special note: Those parking in the lot across from the park (the Friggy’s parking lot) MUST move vehicles immediately after the race. Please do not leave vehicles parked there after the race unless patronizing one of the lots’ establishments. Thank you!

Packet Pickup and Late Registration*:

  • Wendesday, July 3rd from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Peninsula Beach

  • Thursday, July 4th from 6:30 AM - 7:30 AM at Peninsula Beach

*We strongly encourage participants to pick up packets (or register on-site) Wednesday afternoon to avoid long lines and a possible late start. Those picking up Race Morning (Thursday) should arrive no later than 6:45AM to avoid last minute long lines resulting in a delayed start of the race

T-Shirts 

Event t-shirts are guaranteed to those who registered “with shirt” before the cutoff on Monday, June 24th. Plenty of extra shirts have been ordered for those wishing to purchase one for $5 on site at packet pickup. Bring cash or card for payment and arrive early to packet pickup for your best chance at a shirt in your size!

Awards

Top 3 Overall Fastest Male and Female runners in both the 10K and 2 Mile events (gun start - those running to win should be ready to start at 7:30AM & 7:40AM respectively)

Age group awards will be issued to the top 3 male and female participants for each event this year! Age groups are as follows:

1-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-56, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-98

Results

Results from EnMotive Michigan will be available online shortly after your event (see link above) and will be posted at DIGDEEPRACES.COM within 48 hours of race completion.

REFUND AND TRANSFER POLICY

REFUND AND TRANSFER POLICY We completely understand that plans change and runners will sometimes be unable to compete in an event they've signed up for. We also understand that registering for one of our events is a financial investment in that race. We accept your registration funds with the full intention of putting on the promised event with the listed amenities and we use your registration funds to pay for the necessary items and services needed to host the event. For this event, registration is insured for refund should the race be canceled due to adverse weather, natural catastrophe or terrorism. Covid/Pandemic does not fall under any of these categories is not grounds for refund.

Should a registrant have an injury or other medical issue keeping them from competing in this event, we would be happy to transfer registration to next year’s race. A doctor's slip may be required as proof of injury or ailment. Failure to provide proof if requested will result in non-transfer of the event. Transferring registrations to other runners is NOT allowed.
